Iga-yaki
KAMADO-SAN é uma panela de cerâmica para o cozimento do arroz originária de Iga no Japão. A origem das cerâmicas dessa região , consideradas uma das melhores do Japão, remontam ao século 7 AD. A argila usada para confecção da cerâmica IGA-YAKI vem diretamente da região que outrora fizera parte do fundo de um lago prehistorico chamado Lago Biwa. As camadas de terra de 4 milhões de anos produz uma argila porosa que "respira" durante o processo de cozimento. A panela é colocada diretamente sobre o fogo e cozinha lentamente à medida que a argila absorve o calor. O calor fica retido mesmo após a extinção da chama, mantendo a comida quente até a hora de ser servida. Além da praticidade, elas são muito bonitas.
The KAMADO-SAN is a donabe rice cooker originating from Iga, Japan. The ceramics from this region, among Japan's most highly regarded, date back to the 7th Century. It is said that clay pots make food taste better. The clay used to make Iga-yaki ceramics is sourced directly from the region, which used to sit at the bottom of a prehistoric lake called Biwa Lake. The 4 million old earth layers make for a porous clay which "breathes" as it cooks. A donabe is placed directly over an open flame, and slow cooks as the clay absorbs heat. The heat is retained even after the flame is distinguished, keeping food hot until it is ready to be served. While the ceramics are practical, they are also beautiful.
